cardinal   |   August 2006 - A pair Northern Cardinals (Cardinalis cardinalis) have built a nest in the tree right outside our bedroom window. It's been fun to watch them grow. Our cats - Frank 'n Stein sit and watch them.
Aug 31st - They are getting bigger and their feathers staring to grow. That was in the AM. Rose & I came back home in the afternoon, we found the nest empty. The little ones were out on the ground, with the Mother bird flying around. ~~~~

Sunday 08.20.06 - Female was off the nest for a few minutes, so I was able to get some shots of the eggs.

Tuesday 08.22.06 - The eggs have hatched!!! Three little beaks reaching up for food.
The male is around the nest now, bringing food for his family.

Wednesday 08.23.06 - Adults were off the nest so I was finally able to get some pictures of the little ones

Saturday 08.26.06 -

Sunday 08.27.06 - Female bring food for her babies

Sunday 08.27.06 & Tuesday 08.29.06 -

Thursday 08.31.06 - The babies are growing. Their feathers are starting to come in. That was in the morning

Thursday 08.31.06 - In the afternoon they are out of the nest, which is now empty. Frank & Stein are very interested.
